Introduction For College of Physics and Electronics
(CPE)
The CPE contains two departments and one institute of semiconductor
science. One department is Physics, the other is Electronic
Information Science. The Department of Physics has two majors.
One is Physics built in 1950, the other is Applied Physics
which was opened just in 2004. The major of Electronic Information
Science is also a quite new one, which was opened in 1995.
It has undergraduate students of about 1500, graduate students
of a little more than 100, and 11 Doctor candidate now. 80
people are employed by CPE with 18 Professors, 28 associate
Professors, and 16 Lecturers.
Five subjects, atomic and molecular physics, optics, theoretical
physics, solid electronics and micro-electronics, and education
methodology of physics for middle school, have been qualified
to award Master Degree by State Council Degree Committee in
China. The atomic and molecular physics since 2003 and optics
since 2003 have also the qualification to train Doctor candidates.
Since 2003, it can also supply the postdoctoral positions
in Physics.
CPE is characterized by the applied nature of many of its
teaching and research programs and by its special expertise
in the areas of technology and science studies. It has a proud
provincial record of using this expertise to train scientific
students and to meet the new national demands. Its staff takes
part in both education and research. A series of creative
results is published in highly reputed international journals.
We are proud to say that the CPE is formed a system for training
qualified personnel in Physics and Electronics, oh, not just
in both areas.
Thank you very much for your attention.
